Constance White is a veteran journalist, editor and culture and style expert. Following her 1998 ground-breaking book “Stylenoir”, she approached me to work on “Constance White Presents the Queens & Kings of Style.” The hard-cover book celebrates 10 decades of culture defining African-American style and how African-American fashion has influenced pop culture. The book begins with an in-depth historical account of African-American fashion and its’ influences from the fourteenth – and fifteenth-century empires of Ghana, Mali, Egypt, Kush, and Songhai where they developed fabrics and jewelry from their indigenous resources. The book continues with beautiful imagery the was a joy to design focusing on Models, Designers, Street Style, Editorial, Celebrities and Runway.
